ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Jess Engle is an American painter based in Austin, Texas whose work is rooted in a lifelong devotion to beauty. Having spent her formative years living in Pakistan, Germany, Ethiopia, Cyprus, Malawi, South Africa, and Togo, Engle developed a deep appreciation for the distinct beauty found within different cultures and landscapes. These experiences continue to inform her artistic perspective and creative process.

Her paintings explore the space between recognition and abstraction, capturing forms that seem to emerge from collective memory. Whether depicting botanicals, horizons, or more elusive subjects, her work invites viewers into a moment of quiet reflection and presence.
